Clinical Advice

We have a phone nurse on staff every day of the week and on Saturday mornings.  This qualified nurse can provide you with appropriate clinical advice or direct you to your child's care team if necessary.  Don't forget, you can also send the nurse a secure electronic message during normal office hours using our patient portal. The patient portal also allows you to access a collection of patient education materials on a variety of health-related topics. 

Even if you call us outside normal office hours, you will be connected to a qualified nurse from Children's Mercy Hospital who can assist you and, if necessary, connect you with one of our doctors.  At least one of our physicians is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please note that if you send us a secure message from the portal outside normal office hours, we will not be able to respond until the next business day.  If you need more immediate assistance outside normal office hours, call our main number to be connected to a nurse (816-228-4770).
